Kana (仮名文字)

In Japan, calligraphy written using the unique Japanese syllabary known as “kana” is called Kana Shodo (Japanese Kana Calligraphy).
“Kana” refers to characters that originated in China as kanji but were simplified during the Heian period to create a uniquely Japanese writing system. There are various forms of kana, including hiragana, katakana, manyogana, and sōgana. Kana written with a fine brush (kobun) is known for its graceful flow and soft impression, embodying the essence of Japanese beauty and sensibility.
